I know a lot of people will be writing remembrances of Sabrinaa Nightfire, so I don’t feel a need to say a lot about her. The truth is I did not know her as well as people seem to think I did. Certainly not as well as I wish I had.
I was introduced to Sabrinaa by a mutual friend who was unreasonably enthusiastic about my work. Well, apparently the enthusiasm rubbed off on Sabrinaa. I was a little nervous about showing her around my lab, since I was really hoping to make a connection with Georg Janick and the amazing Caerleon group whose work I’d been following with great interest and I knew she was one of the key people there. Sabrinaa pestered Georg repeatedly until he finally took the time to come see my work, which resulted in an invitation to the Caerleon group.
